Wordpress Theme Development

From the existing design mockups, a Wordpress Theme was coded in XHTML and CSS.  Using Wordpress ensured the client could easily edit page content and sponsor logos.  Progressive Javascript was used to further enhance the site, with Google Maps functionality (providing directions to the awards conference) and a countdown to the event date.  By adding this functionality on top of the web site ensured that the code was well optimised for search engines and met accessibility requirements.

Progressive Javascript provides a 'live' countdown timer in the site's footer for users with Javascript enabled.

A number of Wordpress plugins were also integrated, including Contact Form 7, to allow data capture and opt ins at various points across the site, for newsletters, event signups and questions.

The excellent Contact Form 7 plugin provided flexibility in having multiple data capture forms across the site.
