This project involves ongoing design and development work, as well as redeveloping the main web site to provide better navigation, cross browser compatibility and faster page loading times.

Web Site Design

The web site design focused on taking the existing design, and enhancing it by:

• Removing unnecessary image elements for titles (to improve SEO)
• Condensing HTML markup and changing CSS to provide better cross browser support
• Usability aspects, such as changing the search functionality and introducing breadcrumb navigation.

New breadcrumb navigation, to allow users to better navigate the site.

Web Site Development

With Wordpress being an option in the future, this project was coded in PHP and HTML, allowing easy edits of the site wide menu, footer and sidebars, with a view to later migrating the site to Wordpress.

As with all work, the design was coded in XHTML and CSS, using progressive enhancements in CSS and Javascript for newer web browsers, whilst ensuring legacy web browsers could still browse and view the web site’s information.
