Development of a custom Wordpress plugin, allowing Wordpress site owners a quick, intuitive, simple method of creating sales and squeeze pages, with newsletter opt in and no technical knowledge required.

Usability

Usability design was an important part of this project; the plugin had to be quick and simple to use for Wordpress users.  Therefore, the plugin was coded and designed to ensure it followed the look and feel of Wordpress i.e. using custom panels, custom menus and Wordpress style notifications.

Licensing

An important component of the plugin was the ability to sell the plugin to customers.  Therefore, we developed a licensing system, whereby upon purchasing the plugin, the user is given a unique license key, which they are then prompted to enter when they install the plugin.

The plugin follows the Wordpress look and feel for fields and notifications.

Installation & Removal

The installation and removal process had to be simple.  The user would simply upload the plugin file to their Wordpress installation, and the plugin would:

• Create necessary database tables and settings,
• Copy template files to the current active theme,
• Prompt the user to enter their license key.

The plugin provides site-wide reminders to the Wordpress user to update their license key.

Wordpress Pages

To ensure users can easily get to grips with the plugin, additional fields are added in the Wordpress Pages interface, specific to the 4 templates available for the plugin.  Colours, headings, text and newsletter opt ins can easily be added with no technical knowledge required.
